Tragicomic solo show, Almost Adult, combines quick-witted character comedy with touching vulnerability. It follows delightfully naïve protagonist, Hope, as she leaves her hometown, Macclesfield, for the bright lights of London. The play lays bare the darker side of slick modern workplaces and the underhand employment practices that police them – or fail to – with a “stunning lightness of touch”.
